Danielle McGill Named Wilshire Park Assistant Principal

St. Anthony-New Brighton Schools (SANB) has named Danielle McGill as the next assistant principal of Wilshire Park Elementary.

For McGill, the connection to Wilshire Park was immediate.

“There was just such a good feeling in the building,” she said. “I loved getting to talk with teachers, and you could immediately feel the positive culture.”
She is especially excited to join a smaller school community where relationships are at the center.

“I’m really looking forward to that small community feel where you can know everybody’s name,” McGill said. “That’s where strong relationships grow.”

McGill brings a strong background in supporting students both academically and behaviorally. She currently serves as Dean of Students for the Stillwater Area Public Schools Alternative Learning Center and as a district leader supporting Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) and elementary special education. She is also a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, with experience helping schools build systems designed to meet the needs of all students.

But at the core of her work is a belief in helping students see their own potential.
“I really care about helping students recognize their own brilliance,” she said. “When students believe in themselves, everything else starts to open up.”

Incoming Wilshire Park Principal Suzanne Moum, who was part of the hiring process, said that focus on relationships stood out right away.

“Danielle’s warmth, enthusiasm, and kindness were immediately apparent,” Moum said. “She builds strong academic and behavioral systems because she prioritizes authentic relationships with students, staff, and families. We are so excited she will be joining the Wilshire Park and St. Anthony-New Brighton community.”

Director of Principal Leadership and Learning Matt Menier said McGill’s experience and leadership presence made a strong impression during the hiring process.

“Danielle quickly rose to the top among a very strong pool of candidates,” Menier said. “The knowledge she brings to Wilshire Park and our district was evident early on. I look forward to supporting her and watching her grow as a leader. I know she will be a great addition to the Wilshire Park team and a strong partner to Ms. Moum.”

In addition to her work in Stillwater Area Public Schools, McGill brings elementary expertise, including supporting language immersion programming and working with students learning English. Across her roles, she has consistently focused on creating systems and environments where all students can succeed.

Although McGill and Moum officially begin their tenure on July 1, 2026, they are already building relationships within the SANB community. Together, they look forward to partnering with Wilshire Park students, staff, and families throughout the 2026–27 school year.
